Hard Work Beats Talent

This program is targeted to players in, or entering, High School. Tryouts will be held September 10th to determine the team. The schedule will NOT conflict with the start of high school basketball. Teams will receive 2-3 practices per week and play in four tournaments.

Players will learn what to expect at tryouts, what coaches are looking for and how to maximize their chances to make and play for their high school team. Workouts will realistically be more challenging than anything players will experience on their high school teams.

HSP Coaches

Daniel Depelteau
Daniel brings over 25 years of coaching experience, with uncommon passion and dedication to the basketball community. He has head coaching experience at the college level, and served as a director, league coordinator and head coach of Boys Rep Teams for TCYBA and 3D Basketball. He is currently head coach for both girls and boys basketball programs at Dr. Charles Best Secondary. In addition to leading our Boys elite programs, Daniel provides organizational and community leadership to Excel Basketball.
Dan Nayebzadeh
A passionate teacher of the sport, Dan is currently the head assistant coach for University of Fraser Valley Women’s Basketball and teaches Sports and Human Kinetics at UBC (where he earned a Masters in Athletics Administration & Coaching). Dan has over 20 years of coaching experience working with Capilano University, Kwantlen University, Simon Fraser University, Sutherland Secondary, Excel Basketball, and BC Titans Professional Team.
Michel Lamy
Michel has been involved in the basketball community in BC and Ontario as a coach, an official and an administrator for over 20 years. He has experience coaching college athletes all the way from the grade 2-3 level. He has served as equipment and officials coordinator and rep teams coach for TCYBA and 3D Basketball, league coordinator for Basketball BC Metro League and Tournament Director for Club Championships. He was also Technical Delegate for the 2016 World Masters Games, held in Vancouver.

High School Prep

This program is targeted to players in, or entering, High School and serious about playing basketball! Your skill level should already be developed through competitive basketball programs. A limited number of spots are available.
